Aims and Scope

The Diabetes Asia Journal (DAJ) is a quarterly, peer-reviewed, open-access international journal published by Jain hospital & Research Centre (JHRC).

Diabetes Asia is a multinational regional organization founded to promote knowledge, awareness, and positive attitudes, thereby advancing best clinical practice in diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolism.  JHRC is an incorporated in 2016 Non Govt Private organization. It is constituted by a group of physicians in the field of diabetes & NCDs practicing in the Asian countries who are interested in building a medical society that deals with all aspects of the specialty of Diabetes, and Metabolism and NCDs in region Asia, the Middle East-North Africa (MENA), and the developing world. JHRC has no editorial control over the Diabetes Asia journal, but its governing board appoints the Editor-in-Chief and provides financial support.

General Information

The Diabetes Asia Journal is a scientific journal published quarterly. The purposes of the journal are as follows:

  • To promote good practice in all aspects of Diabetes and related complications locally, regionally, and globally.
  • To help the Diabetes Associations in the region in pursuit of promoting Diabetes Research and education in the Asia and MENA.
  • To promote research in diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolism globally, especially in Asia, West Asia and South Asia including
    the Gulf and MENA regions.

Target Groups

  1. All professionals practicing in diabetes and Major Non-communicable Diseases around the Asia & Developing world.
  2. Specialists belonging to various fields of endocrine medicine (physicians, educators, public health specialist, surgeons, biochemists, scientists, relevant technologists, and nurses)
  3.  All end users of endocrine services.
  4. Manufacturers of equipment and reagents relevant to endocrinology and diabetes.
  5. Governmental and administrative personnel relevant to diabetes and endocrine practice.

DAJ allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive the final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository. The journal does not charge for submission, processing or publication of manuscript or color reproduction of photographs except APC mentioned

The journal requires that authors follow the ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly work in Medical Journals. More information can be found here: http://www.icmje.org

Peer review
Each submission is reviewed by at least three experts, who provide detailed critiques within two to four weeks. Those proceeding enter the peer review system, where an Associate Editor and at least three subject-specific expert reviewers are assigned.
 

APC charges:  include the author, from submission to publication, including submission fees, all color and black-and-white pages, pictures, and tables. There will be no charges for withdrawing the article within 3 weeks of submission; after that, charges will not exceed the APC charges. The APC is nil until December 2026, after which an APC of 200 USD will be charged from submission through publication. Fee waivers of 25% and 50% are granted to middle-income and low-income countries, as defined by the World Bank.
